15.09.2026

The German EUDI wallet d-you will go live on the 2nd of January 2027. A-Trust is a trust service provider with more than 25 years of experience and will bring their expertise in digital identities, qualified electronic signatures, and trust services to the German digital wallet world. A-Trust will provide specific use cases for the qualified electronic signature (QES), at launch.
After successfully setting up an account and verifying their identity via d-you, individuals in Germany will be able to use qualified electronic signatures (QES) free of charge for a limited period. Therefore A-Trust is implementing a service into the German market that has already been established in its home market for many years
Proven Signature Expertise for d-you
With more than five million active users of the A-Trust QES, A-Trust possesses extensive practical knowledge in the field of digital identity and signature solutions. Its many years of experience show that, in addition to a secure and reliable technical infrastructure, easy access and tangible benefits are crucial for the widespread adoption of digital identities in everyday life.
Qualified electronic signatures make it possible to conduct legally binding processes that are completely digital. In accordance with eIDAS, they are legally valid and verifiable throughout the EU and uniquely attributable to a specific person. With QES for d-you, A-Trust is now bringing this service to Germany.
CEO of A-Trust, Markus Vesely explains, “Our many years of experience in Austria show that digital identities are most widely accepted when they offer concrete benefits and can be easily used in everyday life. This is precisely the experience we want to bring to the German EUDI wallet ecosystem.”
Working Together for European Digital Identity
In the run-up to the go-live, CEO Markus Vesely met with Federal Minister for Digital Affairs Karsten Wildberger in Berlin on September 9th, 2026, along with other launch partners. The discussion highlighted the importance of concrete applications for the further development of digital identities.
The German EUDI Wallet, powered by d-you, is scheduled to go live on January the 2nd, 2027. It is part of the European trend toward secure digital identities and credentials that can be used across borders. As a launch partner, A-Trust is contributing its expertise as a European trust service provider to the German wallet ecosystem. The QES use case brings this expertise to life for users in Germany: digital identity is combined with a practical application that enables secure and legally valid digital processes.
