New Requirements for EPREL Seals: A-Trust Customers Are Well‑Prepared

The requirements for the EPREL seal are changing, however A-Trust customers can remain relaxed. All EPREL seals ever issued by A-Trust already comply with the new and stricter guidelines. This means: No additional effort, no changes – simply continue EPREL registrations, which are already secure and compliant to the new guidelines.

EPREL is the central register for energy-related products in the EU and is essential for energy labeling. Every affected product must be registered there. The registration requires a qualified electronic seal that confirms the company’s identity and ensures legally secure verification.

New Regulatory Requirements

The European Commission is tightening the requirements for electronic seals for the registration of suppliers in the product database for energy labeling (EPREL). Starting from April 22, 2025, only qualified seals with a National Trade/Business Registration Code (NTR) will be accepted. Other identification numbers, such as VAT, LEI, or PSD, will no longer be accepted for new registrations after this date. By April 22, 2027, all previously issued seals with old identification markers must also be renewed.

What Does This Mean for Companies?

To continue registering and managing products in the EPREL database, companies must ensure that their qualified seals meet the new requirements.

A-Trust Customers Are on the Safe Side

Good news for A-Trust customers: All EPREL seals ever issued by A-Trust already include the required value. This means: No additional steps or changes are necessary. With the "a.sign seal EPREL", EPREL registration remains secure, compliant, and future-proof.
